Waverley Sports & Fitness Academy have announced the dates for the next Fitness Instructor course for PFA Ireland members. The course is designed for players to complete during the off-season.

The course will commence in November 2016 and will run over eight days from November until January 2017.  For dates, times and venue please see the Career section by clicking on this link - http://pfai.ie/coaching-fitness.

Our first students on the Waverley Fitness Instructor course graduated earlier this year, you can read how Sean O'Connor, David O'Connor and John Mountney found the course here - http://pfai.ie/news/players-take-fitness-next-level

Upon completion of the Fitness Instructor course members are qualified to work as fitness coaches with clubs and teams, and to work in gyms, fitness clubs and leisure centres.

PFA Ireland are behind players continuing their education whether they are at the beginning, middle or coming to the end of their careers.

Player Executive Ollie Cahill explains, "We've come together with Waverley Academy to put on this course again during the off-season to avoid any clashes with games or training, so players have no excuse not to participate.  Again this is another wonderful opportunity for our members to up-skill themselves and think about life outside of football.  We can not stress enough the importance of thinking about a dual career and this is an area which members have expressed an interest in.

"We'd like to thank Derek O'Kelly from Waverley Academy for his help and guidance with this project and we look forward to strenghtening our relationship with Derek and Waverley Academy in the years ahead."
