Shelbourne beat St Patrick's Athletic 3-0 in the final of the inaugural Legends 5-a-side tournament held at the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght on Saturday 18 December 2010. Goals from Bobby Browne and a brace from Paul Doolin gave Shels victory over their old rivals Pat's. Mark Rutherford was named player of the tournament and also topped the goalscorers chart with five goals.
St Pat's and Shelbourne finished in the top two positions to qualify for the final with Pat's winning three and drawing one of the games; Shelbourne's only defeat was against Pat's in their first game. This really was a Legends event with some of the League of Ireland greats including players of the calibre of Pat Byrne and Mick Byrne for Shamrock Rovers; Bohemian FC's FAI Cup final winning goalscorers Tony 'Toccy' O'Connor and Dave Tilson; Tom McNulty and Alan O'Neill lined out for Dundalk; the Shelbourne and St Patrick's Athletic squads were - SHELBOURNE ST PATRICK'S ATHLETIC Fred Davis John Tracey Mick Neville John McDonnell Tony McCarthy Paul Osam Gary Howlett Martin Russell Bobby Browne Curtis Fleming Paul Doolin Mark Ennis Mark Rutherford Eddie Gormley Declan Geoghegan Pat Fenlon Stephen Geoghegan John Ryan Ian Hill Martin Reilly Richie Parsons
