Richie Ryan of Sligo Rovers was named the PFAI Player of the Year 2010 at a packed awards ceremony held at the Burlington Hotel on Saturday 6 November 2010.

Ryan saw off competition from his colleagues at Sligo, Joseph Ndo and Padraig Amond, Shamrock Rovers' duo Alan Mannus and 2009 PFAI player of the year Gary Twigg, Shaun Williams of Sporting Fingal and 2007 PFAI Player of the Year Brian Shelley of Bohemians.

Graham Cummins of Cork City picked up the First Division Player of the Year accolade from guest of honour, Graeme Souness, as he saw off the challenge from Monaghan United's Philip Hughes and Patrick McEleney of Derry City.

Sporting Fingal's Shaun Williams collected the Young Player of the Year award following nominations for Jake Kelly and Paddy Madden.  Alan Kelly picked up his fifth Referee of the Year in six years, Ireland and Wolves' forward Kevin Doyle was named Irish Overseas Player of the Year and Gabriel Egan collected the Merit Award.
