ROVERS IN POLE POSITION
Tuesday, 06 July 2010 09:40

Shamrock Rovers move to the top of the Airtricity League Premier Division following a 2-1 win over St Patrick's Athletic on Monday evening.

Pat's took the lead through Derek Doyle just after the break but Rovers came back with two goals from Thomas Stewart.  Pat's were denied a share of the points when Billy Dennehy deliberately handled the ball on the line.  He was shown the red card.  Ryan Guy stepped up to take the resultant penalty but Alan Mannus saved his spot kick to claim the three points for Rovers.
