St Patrick's Athletic head into the mid season summer break at the top of the premier division following their 3-0 victory over Bray Wanderers, and Derry City top the first division six points clear of Waterford United.

Vinny Faherty scored twice for St Pat's - the first after only two minutes - and again on 14 minutes; Ronan Finn grabbed the winner for Sporting Fingal at Oriel Park against Dundalk and Shamrock Rovers could only manage a draw at home to Drogheda United as Robert Bayly scored the equaliser eight minutes from time to cancel out John Flood's opener for the visitors.  Elsewhere Paddy Madden scored both goals for Bohemians in their 2-2 draw with Galway United at Terryland Park and Sligo recorded a 2-0 win at UCD.

In the first division Mark Farren scored twice in Derry City's 3-1 victory over Athlone Town and Vinnie Sullivan grabbed four goals in Waterford United's 8-0 demolition of Salthill Devon.  David Freeman's goal in jury time gave Longford Town a share of the points at Tolka Park as they held Shelbourne to a 1-1 draw, Limerick beat Finn Harps 2-1 and Monaghan United recorded a 4-2 success over Wexford Youths.
